Resource Room/Teacher Consultant:The applicant must possess the following:  


EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  •  Must have a BS or BA from accredited University
  •  Michigan Department of Education Teaching Certification with special education endorsement
  •  Candidates must meet Highly Qualified teacher requirements as defined in the NCLB Act

  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :        Other duties may be assigned 

 

  • Plan a program of activities that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of students with 

      disabilities

  • Create an environment that is conducive to learning and is developmentally appropriate for students

      with disabilities

  • Schedule, attend, and conduct Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team (MET) and Individualized Educational

   Planning Team (IEPT) meetings within required timelines

  • Orient the learning process toward the achievement of specific IEP goals
  • Evaluate the accomplishments of the children on a regular basis and provide progress reports when

      necessary

  • Establish and maintain positive rapport with parents
  • Prepare and conduct parent orientation
  • Plan and supervise purposeful assignments for program paraprofessionals and volunteers
  • Strive to maintain and improve professional competence
  • Attend staff meetings when requested
  • Regular and predictable attendance

  QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Physical/Occupational Therapy-applicant must possess a Bachelor and or Master's Degree in Physical Therapy.  Applicant must also possess a license from a State licensing body in Physical ad or Occupational Therapy.  A minimum of 3-5 years of experience is preferred.  Applicants must have knowledge of the following: 

  1.  The identification, etiology, diagnosis, and classification of physical, neurological, and other health impairment.
  2. Understanding of human anatomy and physiology; medical terminologies; the types and transmission of infectious and communicable diseases; physical effects of medications; the nature of medical
    interventions and treatment of physical and other health impairment.
  3. Assessing, teaching and modifying instruction and curricula for students with physical and occupational  impairments
  4. Adapting and modifying the teaching and learning environment to accommodate the diverse needs of students with physical and occupational impairments

Social Worker-applicant must possess a Masters Degree in Social Work from an accredited University.  Applicant must possess a SW-310 form to be considered for employment.  Applicant must have a License in Social Work from a state licensing body.  A limited license is accepted.  Supervision is offered.  Temporary and Fully Approved School Social Work Certifications are accepted.  

 Applicants must have knowledge of the following:

  1. Adapting and modifying the teaching and learning environment to accommodate the diverse needs of students with behavioral problems
  2. Creating and implementing Functional Behavioral Assessments
  3. Implementing school-wide Response-to-Intervention Tier strategies
  4. Providing Social Work Services in the educational environment
  5. Coordinating an IEP process and services
  6. Completing Psychosocial Adapting and modifying the teaching and learning environment to accommodate the diverse needs of students with physical and occupational impairments.

A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in School Social Work is preferred

Speech Therapist/Teacher of Speech and Language Impaired- must possess a Masters Degree in Speech and Language Pathology.  A minimum of 60 semester or equivalent hours of academic credit in normal aspects of human communication, development thereof, and clinical techniques for evaluation and management of speech and language disorders distributed as follows: 

Applicants must have knowledge of the following:

  1. A minimum of 12 semester hours in courses pertaining to normal development of speech, language and hearing. 
  2.  A minimum of 30 semester hours that are acceptable on a graduate level. Applicants who have completed these requirements and have not obtained their ASHA Certificate of Clinical Compentency (3C's) will be accepted for employment. 
  3.  Supervision for ASHA 3C completion will be offered with an employment opportunity. 
  4. Applicants who have completed their ASHA 3C's are preferred.

A minimum of 3-5 years of experience preferred.means an approved

Creative Educational Solutions, LLC is seeking individuals who have a Master's Degree in Speech Pathology. Applicant's with or without their 3C's will be considered. Supervision for applicants without their 3 C's will be offered. The position is for a Speech Pathologist who will be employed or contracted by CES and placed at a Charter Elementary, School for Speech Therapy Services with Special Education Students In Genesee County, Michigan. This is an on-site and virtual position. 80% of the services will be given to the students via electronic on-line service. This is a position during the school year which may require travel between to the school will be limited to intial evaluations, progress reports and some IEP meetings. Mileage reimbursement will be offerred. Pay is negotiable. Health insurance is offered as an option.

Paraprofessionals must possess a high school diploma, complete at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (equal to 60 semester hours); or  Obtain an associate's degree (or higher); or meet a rigorous standard of quality and demonstrate, through a formal state or local academic assessment. Knowledge of, and the ability to assist in, instructing reading, writing, and mathematics; and or Knowledge of, and the ability to assist in, instructing reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness, as appropriate for education.  A minimum of 3-5 years of experience is preferred.
